O-BIOME LYMPHATIC THERAPY

At Glo Laser & Aesthetics, your comfort and well-being are our top priorities. Understanding the process and procedure of a Lymphatic Therapy treatment is essential to ensure it suits you. If you experience claustrophobia or anxiety, please inform your clinician during your consultation or appointment.

What to Expect During Treatment:

  • After your skin is cleansed and prepped, a lymphatic mask is applied in a thin layer, starting from the décolletage, then covering the neck and face, focusing on areas with high lymph node concentrations.
  • The mask tightens on the skin, applying gentle downward pressure to support the lymphatic and vascular systems.
  • You may feel a pulsating sensation, signaling the gentle stimulation of your lymphatic system. As the mask tightens, your vascular system delivers nutrients to your skin through your blood supply.
  • Itchiness may occur due to dehydration but will pass. We advise against scratching; lightly tap the area instead, as movement can affect the mask’s performance.
  • To prevent cracking, minimize talking and avoid using technology. Feel free to listen to music, podcasts, meditate, or simply relax during this time.
  • The mask will be softened with hot towels, removed, and followed by the application of your aftercare products

After your treatment, your skin will look hydrated, glowing, and refreshed as your cells have been nourished and hydrated from within. Possible temporary side effects may include:

  • Visible Dilated Arterioles: You may notice visible dilated arterioles after the mask is removed, or you may not. Both outcomes are completely normal. Any dilation typically lasts around 15 minutes. The visibility of this can vary from person to person and treatment to treatment.
  • Dehydrated Skin: Some clients may experience dry or irritated skin in the days following treatment. While this is uncommon, it can happen due to low water levels in the skin or a buildup of dead skin cells.
  • Congestion/Breakouts: If there is underlying congestion, you may experience an increase in breakouts in the following days. This occurs because the treatment actively helps the body move toxins to the surface and out of the skin.
  1. Your recovery time will depend on your skin condition. Your Skin Care Specialist will provide guidance on what to expect and any specific aftercare instructions.
  2. Avoid direct sun exposure for 5-10 days. It is essential to use Mineral Pro SPF 30+, reapplying every 2 hours.
  3. Refrain from waxing or hair removal for 14 days.
  4. Avoid non-prescribed peels, IPL, laser treatments, and cosmeceutical facial treatments for 14 days.
  5. Steer clear of exercise, heated yoga, saunas, spas, and activities that cause overheating, as well as swimming pools and chlorinated water for 24 hours.
  6. Do not pick, scratch, or peel your skin.
  7. Avoid exfoliating products, AHA's, Vitamin A products, Retin-A scrubs, or enzymes for 5 days post-treatment.
  8. Do not use harsh or abrasive washcloths for three days following the treatment.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL

  1. Keep the Area Clean: Gently cleanse the treated area with a mild, fragrance-free soap to prevent infection. Avoid harsh chemicals that may irritate the skin.
  2. Moisturize Regularly: Hydrate your skin by applying a gentle, hypoallergenic moisturizer. This helps soothe any dryness or peeling and promotes faster recovery. We recommend using O Cosmedics Medi Soothe for 3-5 days or until your skin has returned to its pre-treatment state.
  3. Sun Protection is Key: Protect the treated area from sun exposure by using a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. Sun exposure can increase the risk of pigmentation issues post-treatment. You can use O Cosmedics SPF 30 or Dp Dermaceuticals Cover Recover SPF 30 Cream to help protect your skin and maintain results.
  4. Avoid Hot Showers and Strenuous Activities: Steer clear of hot showers, saunas, and strenuous activities that may cause excessive sweating, as these can exacerbate irritation and prolong the healing process.
  5. Say No to Hair Removal Products: Avoid using depilatory creams, waxing, or plucking in the treated area during the recovery period. Allow the hair to fall out naturally to prevent unnecessary irritation.

Taking the time to care for your skin after treatment is a worthwhile investment that leads to silky-smooth, hair-free skin. By following these tips, you can ensure a smoother recovery, reduce discomfort, and optimize the long-term results of the procedure.
